Storm season in the Keys.

Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and usually peaks around September 10, according to NOAA. A tidy, clear yard makes the whole season easier.

Where we can lend a hand.

Storm prep is mostly the outside of the property: what is lying around, what could blow about, and what is left afterwards. That is the part we take on.

Before a storm

  • Yard cleanups, so there is less loose material to go anywhere
  • Clearing and hauling piles, junk and old furniture that has been sitting by the fence
  • Getting overgrown beds and patios cleared out

After a storm

  • Clearing and hauling loose debris from the yard
  • Taking away ruined or waterlogged junk
  • Pressure washing the mess off pavers, driveways and patios

We handle the yard and cleanup side of getting ready. We’re not an emergency service, and shutters and roofing are jobs for a specialist.

Your yard and outside checklist.

Work through it before the season, or when a storm is on the way. Ticks stay saved in this browser, so you can come back to it.

Not every flood needs a storm.

Parts of Monroe County see sunny-day flooding during king tides, mostly in the fall. Water can come up in low yards and streets with clear skies and no wind.

If your yard is low, keep that in mind when you decide where things get stored and what stays on the ground.
